SOUTH SUDAN RELIEF

For the past five years, we've partnered with Samaritan's Purse to match our Christmas giving 1:1. i.e. "What I spend on gifts, I give to the Sudan Project." Your generosity provides meals for more than 300k hungry and displaced people each month. This is a 24/7 operation and Samaritan's Purse is one of very few organizations on the ground in South Sudan. Because of your generosity, $13,696 was raised in 2016 which was enough to provide meals for 125 children for one year.

SOUTH SUDAN CRISIS IN NUMBERS

3.95 million PEOPLE HAVE BEEN FORCED TO FLEE THEIR HOMES DUE TO CONFLICT AND FAMINE CONDITIONS
6 million PEOPLE FACE SEVERE FOOD INSECURITY
1.7 million PEOPLE ARE ON THE BRINK OF FAMINE
17,242 CHOLERA CASES REPORTED

July 9th marked the sixth anniversary of South Sudan’s independence, but it was the second year in a row that the government cancelled official celebrations due to the country’s ongoing crisis. Although famine levels have been downgraded to the Emergency level, six million people (50% of the population) are still experiencing severe food insecurity and an estimated 1.7 million remain on the brink of famine— the highest number to date.  Our church has the opportunity to help. As you feel led, please use the link below to donate towards South Sudan Relief by giving online and designating your funds to the South Sudan Project.

Giving FAQ

1. Why give online?

Our secure online giving is the safest way you can give.  It's fully digital, reducing the number of people who handle your money and the chances of fraud which protects both you as the giver and our church. At Sparta EFC, we want to be as accountable as possible with your donations.

2. Can I specify a purpose for my donation?

Yes. Please note, all donations go into the general church fund unless you specify a specific fund. On occasion we announce separate funds for a specific ministry or events.

3. When will my donation process?

Donations usually process for two business days before appearing in your bank account, but this might look different if you donate on weekends or evenings. For example, if you give on Friday, your donation might not process until Tuesday. If you give after 5 PM on Friday, it might not process until Wednesday.

4. Does giving online cost the church extra money?

Your entire donation goes to the church and the church pays a small processing fee for the online giving service. But compared to the man-hours spent managing physical donations, online giving saves money, provides accountability and helps you partner with us in the Lord's work in our community and beyond.

5. What are my options for giving to Sparta EFC?

There are 3 ways to give:

  1. Online (one-time or schedule your re-occuring donations)
  2. In Sunday’s offering plate
  3. By mail (checks only, no cash please):
