Thanksgiving Basket Ministry: Feeding Families, Sharing Christ’s Love
What can someone do with five loaves of bread and two fish? In Webster County, West Virginia, it looks like feeding 270 families—and this year, even more.
From turkey to pumpkin pie, with all the fixings in between, families will enjoy a full Thanksgiving meal because of the generosity of God’s people.
When Sparta Church began this ministry in November 2013, we sponsored 35 families. Last year, we reached 270. This year, we anticipate blessing 300 families.
This year we are partnering with Christ Union Chapel and Lafayette Bible Church to expand this harvest of hope.
You can be part of this blessing. A $100 sponsorship provides a complete Thanksgiving basket for a family—along with the saving message of Jesus Christ and a personal note from you.
If a full basket isn’t possible, any amount helps. Your gift will join with others to meet the needs of families who rely on this ministry.
What a privilege it is to sow seeds of compassion and share the love of Jesus with those around us.

Upcoming Events
All are welcome to join us as we begin our Interest Group Meetings on October 1st. We will meet on the odd (1st, 3rd, and 5th) Thursdays of each month from October through December (except for Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and New Year's Eve). The purpose of the interest group is to learn more about the vision for the campus, to fellowship with others who are interested in the campus, and to discern whether the Lord may be leading you to join the core group. In these meetings we will also be working through "The Local Church" by Edward Klink, which is a book about the importance of the local church in the life of every believer. These meetings will take place at 7pm at the Jefferson Campus, 5550 Berkshire Valley Road, Oak Ridge, NJ 07438.
