Hebrews 1:1-3

1. Read Hebrews 1:1. How did God communicate to man in the Old Testament? How did God communicate to man through Jesus? What is the initial contrast introduced here and why?

2. Read verses 2-3. Identify the numerous ways the text describes the Son of God. Which one(s) stood out to you most? Why?

3. In what ways is Jesus Christ the ‘exact representation’ of God’s nature? (See also Colossians 2:15, John 14:8-9, Philippians 2:6.)

4. What assurance do you receive trusting in Jesus Christ’s work of purification of your sins? Have you ever come to the place of believing and trusting in Christ’s forgiveness of your sins personally? If not, why? If so, describe when that happened.

5. What assurance do you find knowing that Jesus Christ is seated at the right hand of the Majesty on high?

6. How does this passage give you peace and hope this Christmas season with all that is going on in the world?
