Who We Are
Upward Sports is an organized recreational league focused on developing young athletes mentally, athletically, spiritually, and socially. Over the course of the program, players will develop individually, teams will grow together, and strong relationships will be formed during weekly practices and games. Emphasis is placed on learning new skills, sportsmanship, and teamwork. Every player gets time on the court on game day. In Upward Cheerleading, cheers, chants, and pom routines are taught that provide excitement and energy on game day.

Registration Closes- November 9th
Evaluation Nights (returning & new players will need to be evaluated, cheerleaders do not need to be evaluated)-6 PM to 8PM- November 16th,17th, and 18th.
Uniform Distribution Nights- 6 PM to 8 PM December 15th and 16th
Practices Start- Week of January 4th, 2027
1st Game Day- January 16th, 2027
(No game on February 27th)
Last Game Day- March 13th, 2027
Celebration Day- March 14th, 2027 2PM

Parent Resources
PRACTICE: If the weather gets bad during the day, a decision will be made by 3:00pm. If the Sparta School system is closed during the week due to weather, Upward practice is cancelled.
GAME DAY: If bad weather is predicted for a Saturday, we will make a decision the night before and send it through email.

Building up your athlete for life
In today's "win at all costs" culture, we sometimes miss that winning (and losing) are part of the lessons in life. As a parent, you play a very important role in building the self-esteem and character of your child and every child in this league. Players look to their parents, coaches, and referees as models for sportsmanship, respect for authority, and positive attitudes. Make those winning (and sometimes losing) moments count!
