1.    Read John 6:26-69 for context. Identify responses from the various groups of people listening to Jesus’ teaching. Why did they respond in the way they did? What were they seeking?

2.    According to Jesus’ words, how can one truly receive the gift of eternal life? (See verses 29, 35, 40, 47-48.)

3.    Why did Jesus say He is the Bread of Life? Reread John 6:41-48. What was He referring to regarding His flesh and His blood?

4.    Peter identified 2 truths about Jesus. What were they, and why was this such a profound confession? What alternatives do people typically look to when trying to satisfy their desire for “eternal life”?

5.    How do you typically respond when you come across a difficult or challenging passage in the Bible? What are some things that are helpful when you’re stuck in a season of doubt or do not understand why Jesus taught a particular thing?
