(Q) When does camper registration open for summer 2026? When do I have to register by?
(A) Registration for campers opens Monday, March 9th at 12am. Registration closes June 1st.
(Q) What is the location of Breakaway Day Camp?
(A) Breakaway Day Camp takes place at Sparta Evangelical Free Church. We have over 80+ acres of camp space for your children to run around and get outside! Our address is 385 Houses Corner Rd. (Corner of 15 & Houses Corner Rd) Sparta, NJ 07871

(Q) Who is watching over my child during camp?
(A) Our trained and loving counselors and staff bring high-energy and fun to each day. Our counselors are 16+ and our CIT's (Counselor's in Training) are 13+ with full CPR and leadership training. Counselors are mentored by our adult leadership staff.
What are the hours of BDC?
(A) Breakaway Day Camp is a four week program during the month of July. Each day runs from 9am - 3pm. Before care and after care are available at an additional charge. Drop off starts at 8:15am. After care is available until 5pm.
(Q) How old does my child have to be to attend BDC?
(A) Breakaway Day Camp is open to ages kindergarten - 12 years old. Children MUST have completed kindergarten prior to camp. Children ages 13-15 are eligible for out CIT program..
(Q) What are BDC Specialties, and are they an extra charge?
(A) We have amazing specialties that available for campers! Your child will participate in their specialty for an hour every day. Our currently specialties are: Art, Sports, Nerf Battle, and Ninja Warrior. Our Nerf Battles ($65) and Ninja Warrior($65) specialties are an additional charge. Arts and crafts and sports specialties are available at no additional charge.
(Q) What is our Nerf Battle Specialty?
(A) When you sign your child up for Nerf Battles, they will receive a complete nerf set! Each set includes, a nerf gun, vest, goggles, nerf darts, dart carrier, and a colored team bandana! Kids will battle it out in our nerf zone with obstacles to hide behind and more!
(Q) What is our Ninja Warrior Specialty?
(A) If your child is signed up for Ninja Warrior, they will get to try their hand at all of our incredible inflatable obstacle courses! Slides, climbing walls, and more! It's a race to the finish line as children will compete to finish first!
(Q) Is there a discount code for families who are registering more than one child?
(A) Yes, there is a 10% discount per additional child. The discount will automatically be applied when you complete registration.
(Q) Is lunch provided?
(A) Lunch is provided for an additional cost. You can add lunch to your child's registration for $50 per week. Lunch must be added for the full week of camp (no daily purchases).
(Q) What should I pack my child with everyday?
(A) At Breakaway, we get unplugged from the devices and get outside. Here's all your child needs for camp: hand sanitizer, a backpack, sunscreen, bug spray, reusable water bottle, and socks & sneakers.*Friday only: towel + wear bathing suit under clothes for water day!

Everything! Each week of camp includes all the daily fun, lunch (if selected), Nerf special materials (if selected) and snacks. CIT Training Program
Our BDC Counselor Training Program is a leadership development opportunity for rising 7th, 8th, and 9th graders led by our Breakaway leadership and staff. Students will be challenged to grow as leaders while developing the skills, knowledge, and Christ-like character for which BDC counselors are so well known. This four-week session involves a unique development experience, engaging service hours, and pertinent spiritual and professional training for their transitional stage of life. The session directly prepares a way for these students to walk into the counselor role at BDC as soon as they complete 9th grade.
