Dear parents!
It’s been an amazing first day on site here in Chicago! It’s been really cool seeing each of the students putting their missions training into practice as they slot so seamlessly into the ministry of the Family Empowerment Center.
One of the key things about this team is the unity and willingness that they have shown over the last 5 days. Several of the church leaders from other groups and TTW staff have expressed how unified and locked in they have been, pouring into students from other groups, and jumping headfirst into each opportunity so far!
I want to also take this opportunity to thank you for allowing this work not just through, but most importantly in these students this week! I do not take lightly each of you and your families trusting me and my leaders with your children, especially with the disconnected trips we do. But I want to reaffirm how impactful it has been, allowing them to leave behind the deadlines, to do lists, and overall busy-ness that plagues all of us on a daily basis. I think these opportunities are so crucial to create space where it is so much easier for them to hear from, and walk in step with the Lord in a way that is so unique to these trips. Thank you, because I know this is a great sacrifice for you all to make this happen!
