All are welcome to join us as we begin our Interest Group Meetings on October 1st, and we will meet on the odd (1st, 3rd, and 5th) Thursdays of each month from October-December. The purpose of the interest group is to learn more about the vision for the campus, to fellowship with others who are interested in the campus, and to discern whether the Lord may be leading you to join the core group. In these meetings we will also be working through The Local Church by Edward Klink, which is a book about the importance of the local church in the life of every believer. These meetings will take place at 7pm at the Jefferson Campus (5550 Berkshire Valley Road, Oak Ridge, NJ 07438).
We also have a Sermon-Based Life Group that currently meets in Jefferson on the even (2nd and 4th) Thursdays of each month at 7pm. This group (which will continue meeting on the Thursdays opposite the Interest Group) provides another opportunity to fellowship with other believers from our church, and it would be a great way to continue to get to know the people and the facility down in Jefferson.
In the winter, we will begin Core Group Meetings, which will occur weekly from January-March. At this point, those who decide to commit to the campus will covenant together and begin working toward the launch of the Campus. These meetings will most likely involve working through another book, bonding together as a core team, breaking up into service-oriented groups, and prayerfully bringing our plans before the Lord as the Sunday morning schedule takes shape. This group will be integral to ensuring that Sunday morning worship services at the satellite campus are conducted faithfully and with excellence. 

Jefferson is a scenic countryside township in the northwest corner of Morris County. It is home to roughly 20,000 people who are spread throughout its 42 square miles. Within Jefferson Township there are two main communities: Lake Hopatcong and Milton/Oak Ridge, which are divided by NJ Route 15.  A few years ago, our church was given property and a church building on the Oak Ridge side of town. The property is situated on Berkshire Valley Road, about halfway between NJ Route 15 and NJ Route 23.

We believe that God has entrusted this property in Jefferson to us for a reason. The Jefferson community is in need of a vibrant, gospel-preaching, Bible-believing congregation, and the Jefferson site provides unique opportunities for such a local church ministry. After patient and prayerful consideration, we believe that the Lord is leading us to meet this need. We hope to launch a satellite campus of Sparta Church in Jefferson, with the ultimate goal of planting a healthy new church there. We believe that this is the next step for Sparta Church, as we continue to fulfill Christ’s Great Commission by preaching the gospel and making disciples both in our community and in the communities around us.
