This Sunday at 4REAL Worship

Welcome! In October, school is well underway, and kids are facing down big things: tests and homework. Sports competitions. Finding their place in friend groups. Maybe even standing up to a bully. This world can be a dark place, and kids already know that. G.K. Chesterton, who wrote both Christian apologetics and fiction, once said, “Fairy tales do not tell children the dragons exist. Children already know that dragons exist. Fairy tales tell children dragons can be killed.” Every good story is a reflection of the one true story, God’s Story, which affirms for kids and adults alike that we’re in a war—but that the battle has already been won. In the end, our enemy’s defeat is certain! This month, we want to equip kids to understand that no matter what they face, God is fighting with them and for them. Jesus wins! And in the end, everything will be made right, even if it’s not our timeline. With this truth in mind, we can always find strength and courage in God! Our theme for the month helps kids discover THE SAFE PLACE: God is stronger than anyone or anything.

Jesus Calms the Storm -
Time to travel to the Sea of Galilee, where Jesus and His disciples are caught up in a wild storm. While His friends panic, Jesus takes a nap. But when they wake Him up, Jesus shows in a single instant that God is never asleep to our needs— and always in control. This week's Bottom Line, "God is in control, so I can trust Him."

Books For Important Conversations

Scripture teaches us that the good world God created is broken with sin. As parents, we wish we could shield our kids from all the wickedness in the world. However, we know our kids will encounter brokenness.  So how do we talk to our kids and prepare them some of these difficult and dark things?  Below are some books that were written to help families disciple their children through the hard topics of private parts, boundaries, abuse and pornography. The goal of each of the books below is to help facilitate parent-child conversations.
*Remember, no book or author is perfect! Use your discernment and discretion to decide if these are a good fit for your family.  If you are a follower of Jesus  you have  the Holy Spirit to help them discern what is best for your family and kids.*
