Join us TOMORROW!

THIS SATURDAY!
Join us this Saturday, rain or shine, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. for our annual Community Egg Hunt!
What to expect as this year's event:
The egg hunt portion of the day will kick off at 1:45 p.m. sharp! We will have four different hunting fields this year:
  • Ages 2-4 (adult supervision required)
  • Ages 5 to 8 (adults may watch but cannot participate)
  •  Ages 9 to 12 (adults may watch but cannot participate)
  • Special Needs: this section was created to create a space for kids and families who may need  a quieter, less busy experience. Adults are welcome to assist children who opt in to this location.  All the hunts will run at the same time, so your child can only participate in one location.

Let's Get Ready to Worship!

On Resurrection Sunday (April 5th), there will be no CORE classes or 4REAL Worship (the Family Room, Nursery & Toddler care will be available). Why? Because we want to celebrate Jesus' resurrection as one big family! Our kids also have a special job that Sunday: to help  us with worship! All kids ages 2-12 are invited to join the worship team  on stage to sing Psalm 8 on Resurrection Sunday. We'll be practicing the next few weeks during CORE and 4REAL, but we invite you all to practice at home too! Play the song in the car or get out the wiggles by trying out the moves a home. We are so excited to worship with you!

Discipleship & Serve Opportunities

It's the last Sunday to  make an Easter Basket for kids in Newark! 4REAL Worship will be collecting Easter baskets for kids in Newark from now until Palm Sunday. If you would like to donate a basket, please fill a basket with gospel-centered gifts and some treats (no weapons/violent toys). Please wrap your basket in cellophane (so no objects fall out!). Baskets can be dropped off at the table in the church hallway on Sundays.

Want to get your kids involved? Have them help you pick out a Bible or pick book that shares the Gospel. Go to a dollar store, Walmart or craft store to choose some items they think another child would like to receive!

The Upside Down Kingdom

Palm Sunday/ Jesus Washes His Disciples’ Feet - We wrap up the month as Jesus approaches Jerusalem during Passover week. Days after entering Jerusalem on a donkey, to the cheers of a multitude, Jesus celebrates the Passover meal with His closest friends. Instead of demanding that He be served, Jesus takes on the role of the lowliest servant by washing His disciples’ feet … even those of Judas, His betrayer.

This week's Bottom Line, "Jesus showed us how to be humble."

Bibles for Your Baskets

Are you looking to add some substance to your Easter baskets this year? Check out some of the different Bibles below. There are options for all ages and stages of kids.

Note that the first 3 recommendations are Bible storybooks; they have taken selected stories from the Bible and paraphrased them to make them very readable and understandable for kids. The pros of this format is that they are often engaging and a great way to introduce the characters and themes of Scripture to our younger kids. The negative is that they do not often contain the nuances and depth of Scripture. They may skip or simplify challenging parts of Scripture.

The next three Bibles are the complete  66 books of the Bible. These Bibles are formatted in a way to appeal to kids, provide helpful context, and engage them as readers. If your child can read, or your family is reading from the Bible together, these are great options.

(Want help getting your child to read Scripture more? Send them to CORE class at 9am! One of the main goals of our CORE classes is to help kids read and understand the Bible!)
