8.14.26

Whether you homeschool, public school, or private school, all of us are beginning to prepare our kids for the  upcoming school year. All families (adults, kids and teens!) are invited to join us for a Back to School prayer night on Friday August 28th in the Multipurpose Room. We will be going through some hands-on prayer stations to pray for our teachers, schools, and our children's friends. At the end, we will all prayer together over our children. We encourage you to bring the whole family- this is a great opportunity to pray with our kids and our church family!
*Popsicles on the playground to follow our prayer time!*

Summer Sundays Are Full Swing!

With the change in temperature comes a change of schedule! At Sparta Church, lot of our regular programs take a break, but there are lots of special gatherings and opportunities.
Summer is from June 21st- September 6th.

Summer Updates:
  • There are no CORE classes for the summer!
  • Are you nervous about your kids sitting in the Worship Center? We have a new resource for you: a kids sermon note sheet. This worksheet is a tool to help our kids learn to listen to a sermon. Worksheets will be available to take as you walk in to the Worship Service. This will begin Sunday, June 21st.  At the end of each service during the summer, kids can show their worksheet to the Children's Ministry team at the table by the windows in the center of the hall to pick a small reward (ex. small toy, sticker). We love having all ages in  worship together and hopefully this encourages our kids to participate in the Worship Service alongside the adults! Check out the worksheets here
  • We will have "All Together Sunday" Multigenerational Worship services on July 5th and September 6th. These are Sunday services that are intentionally geared towards having our kids in the Worship Center service with us. There will be sermon-based activity sheets available, and some special moments geared towards our younger church family members. On these Sundays, only the Nursery and Family Room will be available.  We encourage families with kids ages 2 and up to have them join us in the Worship Center!
  • 4REAL Worship continues during the summer at 10:30  (except 7/5 and 9/6).
  • Nursery   is available both services every Sunday
  • The 2-4 year old rooms are available at both services every Sunday except 7/5 and 9/6.
  • The Family Room is available both services every Sunday

This Sunday at 4REAL Worship

We are taking August to dive in and explore the incredible truth that each one of us is a Masterpiece: Made by God–in God’s very own image! Throughout the month, kids will discover that they are created for a purpose, that God can use everything in our lives, that every single person is of value because they are made in God’s image, and that God has gifted us to work together to grow His kingdom.

This Week - In All Things God Works for Good
Through this passage from Romans, kids will explore how God can work for good in every single circumstance. Your background, your family, where you live, what you experience—all of these pieces of your identity can be used by God to grow you to be more and more like Jesus, and to spread His love to others.
This week's Bottom Line, "God can use all things."

CORE Classes Resume September 13th!

Children's CORE classes are for ages 4 years old to 5th grade. Offered during our 9am Worship Service, CORE classes are meant to teach our kids the truths found in Scripture. They will be reading the Bible and memorizing Scripture. All ages follow the Answers in Genesis Curriculum and are synchronized (meaning your 5 year old and your 10-year-old will be covering the same portion of the Bible each week).

CORE age groups and locations:
PreK (4-5 years old): Room 304
Kindergarten/1st Grade: Room 303
2nd/3rd Grade: Room 306
4th/5th Grade: Multipurpose Room

Nursery And Toddler

Have you heard?!? Our Toddler classroom is BACK this Fall!

Starting September 13th, we will be restarting our 2-3 year old classroom for both 9:00 and 10:30 service. During this time, your toddler will play, hear a Bible story, do an activity, sing songs and be loved on by our wonderful Toddler Team.

Love working with 2-3 year olds? We need more helping hands to our Toddler Room! Email [email protected] for more info!

Embracing the Gift of August

Already feeling the Back to School Blues? This blessing from Kate Bowler reminded me to slow down, pay attention to what God is doing today , and embrace His goodness in embracing these last few weeks of summer.

Rhythms to Grow Spiritually this Fall

While we can truly enjoy the rest of Summer, many of us are missing the routine and structure that Fall often brings. If you're needing some ideas on creating healthy rhythms for your family, give this podcast from Rebekah Lyons and Justin Earl Whitley a listen: both are Christian writers who have written recently about the importance of rhythyms in our homes and for our spiritual growth. The conversation starts at the 7:40 minute mark.

Intrigued by what you hear? One of our adult CORE classes will be studying Justin's book "Habits of the Household" this Fall! Stay tuned for more info!
