Cliff Notes for September

Phew!
If your family is anything like mine, you've had a busy week and the month ahead probably doesn't look much calmer. If scrolling through all the updates and newsletters is getting exhaisting, here's the quick "Cliff Notes" version of what's going on in Children's Ministry at Sparta Church:

  • This Sunday is an "All Together Sunday"! There are no kids programs this week* so that all ages are gathered to worship together during our 9am and 10:30 am services (Note: Nursery for ages 0-24 months and the Family Room are always available).
  • There is a picnic after church! Bring a side or dessert to share and stay after the 10:30 service to enjoy some burgers and dogs as well as time with your church family.
  • Registration is open for 2 programs kicking off in a few weeks: Rangers and Healthy Kids Running Series. Rangers kicks off September 23rd and HKRS begins September 20th, so register soon! Scroll down below for more info on both!
  • It may barely be Fall, but Upward Basketball has already got us thinking about January! Registration for Upwards basketball (kids kindergarten-6th grade) opens September 7th!
  • CORE classes start next week!!!! CORE kids classes are for ages 4 years old-5th grade and meet at 9am.

Labor Day Weekend- All Together Sunday!

Get ready for All Together Sunday: Sunday September 6th!
Six times a year we have Sunday morning "family services" at both 9am and 10:30. (This is similar to  our  Christmas Weekend  and Resurrection Sunday  services in the past).
On these Sundays, there will not be separate programming for kids (no 2-4 year olds, CORE or 4REAL Worship) so that all ages can worship together in the Worship Center.
Are you concerned about your child sitting  through the service ?  An activity page will be available, the Nursery will be open for ages 0-24 months, and the Family Room will be available.

Get Ready for Fall!

No 4REAL this week! See you in "Big Church"!

CORE Classes Resume September 13th!

Children's CORE classes are for ages 4 years old to 5th grade. Offered during our 9am Worship Service, CORE classes are meant to teach our kids the truths found in Scripture. They will be reading the Bible and memorizing Scripture. All ages follow the Answers in Genesis Curriculum and are synchronized (meaning your 5 year old and your 10-year-old will be covering the same portion of the Bible each week).

CORE age groups and locations:
PreK (4-5 years old): Room 304
Kindergarten/1st Grade: Room 303
2nd/3rd Grade: Room 306
4th/5th Grade: Multipurpose Room

Nursery And Toddler

Have you heard?!? Our Toddler classroom is BACK this Fall!

Starting September 13th, we will be restarting our 2-3 year old classroom for both 9:00 and 10:30 service. During this time, your toddler will play, hear a Bible story, do an activity, sing songs and be loved on by our wonderful Toddler Team.

Love working with babies or  2-3 year olds? We need more helping hands to our Nursery and Toddler Room! Email [email protected] for more info!

Rhythms to Grow Spiritually this Fall

While we can truly enjoy the rest of Summer, many of us are missing the routine and structure that Fall often brings. If you're needing some ideas on creating healthy rhythms for your family, give this podcast from Rebekah Lyons and Justin Earl Whitley a listen: both are Christian writers who have written recently about the importance of rhythyms in our homes and for our spiritual growth. The conversation starts at the 7:40 minute mark.
