1. What are some things that you commonly do for rest or relaxation


2. What typically fills your time on a daily basis? How much of this is essential?


3. Did the sermon on Sunday bring comfort or conviction, or a bit of both? Explain.


4. Read Exodus 20:8-11. Do you believe this is required, beneficial, both, or neither? What is your current Sabbath rhythm?


5. Read Hebrews 4:1-13 and discuss the significance of this passage for the Christian today.


6. Do you find yourself practicing these spiritual disciplines (prayer, Bible reading, Bible Study, etc.), but missing rest in Jesus? Discuss.


7. Come up with a specific plan for Sabbath this week using the 5 Steps shared on Sunday:

i - Set aside a FIXED time EVERY week. (min. 4 hours)

ii - Retreat & break from the things that fill your week (work, phones, etc.)

iii - Get into the Word

iv - Meditate, Pray, & Worship

v - Do something you love that glorifies the Lord (get into creation, get creative, etc.)
