1. Think of your life before you became a Christian. How is it different now? How is your life different from 5 or 10 years ago?

2. Read 1 Peter 1:17-21. What does it mean to ‘conduct yourselves in fear during the time of your stay on earth’? What does this mean practically in your life?

3. What does this passage teach us about God’s character?

4. According to verses 18-19, with what and from what were you redeemed?  See also: John 8:34-36; Romans 3:10-20. What does it mean to be “redeemed”?

5. Read verses 19-20. How was Jesus both fully man and fully God in nature? Read also Philippians 2:5-11 and discuss how this could be.

6. According to verse 21, who are the only ones who can claim hope in God? How has this passage given you greater hope and faith in God’s work of redemption?
