Study Questions

1. Review: Can you identify a Paul (mentor), Timothy (disciple), Barnabas (encourager),
and Nathan (accountability partner) in your life? If so, who are they? If not, what can
you do to begin fostering those relationships?

2. Peter is considered a ‘counterpoint’ (lives by a different melody) given he walked and
lived very different from the other disciples. Read the following passages in Matthew:
Matthew 14:28; 16:21-23; 17:4; 18:21; 26:33-34. Why do you think the Lord called Peter
as one of His disciples? How was he different from the others? What made him unique?
What were his strengths? His weaknesses?

3. Read 1 Corinthians 1:26-31. What prevents us from boasting when comparing ourselves
to others in the family of God? How does this passage affect the way you view your
counterpoints?

4. What can you do to appreciate more your brother or sister in Christ who is very
different than you? How can you show them you appreciate them and love them in
Christ?

5. How does humility play a role in the way you view your fellow believers in Christ? See
