Ephesians 4:1-6
Study Questions
1. Read Ephesians 4:1-6. In verses 1-3, Paul urges the Ephesians, and us, to “Live a life worthy of the calling you received.” What does it mean to walk worthy of your calling? (See also: 1 Corinthians 1:9; Galatians 5:13; Colossians 3:15; 2 Timothy 1:9; 1 Peter 2:21; 3:9).
2. What four aspects does Paul give of this aspect, “Walk worthy in community” life?
3. Why do you think peace is crucial for maintaining unity within the body of Christ? How can we pursue and maintain peace in our relationships with fellow believers when we face difficulties and/or conflict? Give examples.
4. What does it mean practically to “bear with one another in love” as mentioned in verse 2? What is the relationship between loving God and loving people?
5. Ephesians 4:4-6 focuses on unity. What do we learn about unity from these verses? How does the Gospel bring diverse people together in unity, and what does this look like?
6. What does this walk look like for you personally? What areas do you struggle with more than the others? What does surrendering to the Holy Spirit’s control look like over behavioral modification?
7. How has this study helped you ‘walk in a manner that’s worthy of your calling’?
