Ephesians 1:7-12
Study Questions
1. Read Ephesians 1:7-12. Read it again, taking time to replace every pronoun with the person in the Godhead doing that action. IE: v.6 to the praise of the glory of His [the Father’s] grace, with which He [the Father] favored us in the Beloved [Jesus].
2. According to this passage, what roles do the Father and the Son have?
3. What does it mean to ‘redeem’ something? Why was it necessary for the Lord Jesus Christ to redeem us? From what? Why did Jesus have to die to provide redemption? Was His bloodshed necessary for redemption to become effectual? See also: Leviticus 17:11; Acts 20:28; Colossians 1:19-20; 1 John 1:7.
4. Read verse 7. What is the difference between being redeemed and being forgiven? What is the significance of being both redeemed AND forgiven? What does this mean to you?
5. Read Ephesians 3:3-6; Galatians 4:4-5. What mystery has the Father made known? Also read Colossians 1:25-27; Matthew 13:10-11; 1 Corinthians 3:6-16.

6. According to Ephesians 1:11-12, what ‘inheritance’ have believers obtained? See also: 1 Peter 1:4; John 14:1-3; Revelation 21:4. What are the things in life that distract you from desiring this future inheritance? How can you change your perspective?
