1. How and why does Jesus deal with the contrast of love (John 15:12-17) and hate (John 15:18-27)? Why is understanding this context important?


2. According to verses 18-19, why do those of the world hate all those who know and follow Jesus?


3. What did Jesus mean that you are in the world, but not of it?


4. How did God make Himself known? (See Romans 1:18-20; John 1:10-11.)


5. How do you feel about the truth that humanity has no excuse for sin, wrong choices, or evil? (See verses 20-25.)


6. Do you believe Christians in the United States understand what it means to suffer for their faith? Why/why not?


7. What comfort do you find in what Jesus says in verses 26-27?


8. How does this passage equip you when facing opposition from those who are hostile to the things of God? How does what Jesus taught here help your faith in Him to grow?
