Study Questions

1.        Read 1 Peter 2:4. How have you seen people today reject Jesus? Why? What does this verse teach us regarding the relationship between God the Father and God the Son within the Trinity?

2.        Read 1 Peter 2:6-8.  How has Jesus become the ‘Chief Cornerstone’?

3.        Read 1 Peter 2:5. Why does Peter call Christians ‘living stones’? What does this analogy teach us about the relationship between Christ and His Church?

4.        What does it means that we are ‘being built up as a spiritual house’?  See also Ephesians 2:19-22. What does this teach you about the value and purpose of being a part of God’s family?

5.        Read 1 Peter 2:5. Peter calls believers ‘a holy priesthood’. What does this mean? What does this look like in your church? In your community?

6.        Give practical examples of what it looks like to offer up ‘spiritual sacrifices’ to God. See also: Romans 12:1-2.
